  • Sabine Döring is Pro­fes­sor of Phi­los­o­phy at Uni­ver­sität Tübin­gen.

    She is also Board Mem­ber and Prin­ci­pal Inves­ti­ga­tor of the Tübin­gen clus­ter of excel­lence Cen­ter for Inte­gra­tive Neu­ro­science (CIN). And she is speaker of the Mini-GK Ground­ing Self and Agency.

    Sabine stud­ied Phi­los­o­phy, Ger­man Lit­er­a­ture, Lin­guis­tics, and Psy­chol­ogy at Göt­tin­gen Uni­ver­sity. She was Research Asso­ciate in Phi­los­o­phy at King’s Col­lege Lon­don and The Uni­ver­sity of Man­ches­ter, and prior to that an Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor in Phi­los­o­phy at Duisburg-Essen Uni­ver­sity, also doing research at UC Berke­ley and St. Andrews Uni­ver­sity.

    Her main research areas are (meta-) ethics, aes­thet­ics, and the the­ory of prac­ti­cal ratio­nal­ity, with an empha­sis on emo­tion and the ques­tion of what role the emo­tions have to play in the the­ory of value. She is also inter­ested in the phi­los­o­phy of mind and the phi­los­o­phy of the social sci­ences, in par­tic­u­lar, in the phi­los­o­phy of economics.
